Junior Poster Contest

The Alabama Sports Foundation is calling on all junior artists to design a commemorative poster for the Davis Cup match between Switzerland and the United States of America. The matches will be played at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex from March 6 - 8, 2009. Kids interested in participating must be enrolled in kindergarten through 8th grade and live in Alabama. One winner will be selected from each category, (1) Kindergarten – 2nd Grade; (2) 3rd – 4th Grade; (3) 5th – 6th Grade and (4) 7th – 8th Grade, with the grand prize winner selected from these finalists.
Grand prize winner will receive:
- $300 tennis equipment prize package, courtesy of Player’s Choice Tennis
- A 6-week scholarship for our Saturday tennis lessons (9-11 am), courtesy of the LETT program
- As well as all category winner prizes
Each category winner will receive:
- Two (2) tickets to the Davis Cup providing access to each day, Friday - Sunday
- Commemorative match program/magazine
- USTA/Davis Cup merchandise
- Gift card provided by Player’s Choice Tennis
Design & Submission Details:
- Posters must be designed vertically, measuring 17” high x 11” wide. Students may use any coloring device as long as the final artwork does not smudge.
- Posters must be original designs.
- Posters should include the following information:

Birmingham, AL - Only one entry may be submitted per student. An entry form must be signed by teacher/guardian and attached to the design. Click here to download the entry form.
